I have just read in our local paper that the City of Sweetwater is seriously considering not allowing you to hold your annual car show on Main Street in Downtown Sweetwater next year (2011). I am appalled as a resident of the City that they are not working with you; along with, the merchants of the Downtown.  I believe that moving you to the Sweetwater Recreation Center (where ever that is) may hurt your exposure some; but, could alot you the opportunity to allow more classic cars to come to your event. We have gone to your shows a few times in past years and have notice more cars at each event. I believe you can use this negative and turn it into a positive.  (Funny thing is...your shows helps our police dept. help the kids of our community). Keep up the fight to show our youth the pride of our past.

Thank you for your nice comments about our show and how we do try to help our community; people that need our help, and the children have a nice Christmas. The recreation center is at the city pool area. We did go to the meeting on November 1st to let them know that if they don't want us in Sweetwater, we will find another town that would love to have the support that we give them. The City Commissioners stated that they do want us to stay but we must move because of the downtown merchants. They feel we hurt their businesses. We all have seen many shoppers from the show visit them; if they buy something we don't know but they do go in. The city said they will help us with the advertising for the show so, we shall see what happens. Thank you again for your response and yes we will continue to be there for all that need us. Our car club members will be (as usual) shopping for the police department and handing out the toys for Christmas in December.
