Packard Motor Car Company, established in 1899 by James Ward Packard, was an iconic American luxury automobile manufacturer known for its craftsmanship, innovation, and prestige, During the Great Depression, Packard faced declining sales but remained financially stable by implementing robust marketing strategies and reducing automobile prices.

During World War II, Packard Motor Car Company played a crucial role by shifting its production from luxury automobiles to aircraft and marine engines, including powering PT Boats and building the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine used in the P-51 Mustang fighter plane. The company also employed hundreds of women, known as the "Packard Rosies," who significantly contributed to the war effort by filling jobs left vacant by men who joined the armed forces.

Packard continued to produce high-quality vehicles, maintaining its reputation for luxury and refinement until it ceased production in 1958.
