Chuck Keen’s Georgia Hot Rods Show Car rules:
The Gear Jam is a traditional rod n custom show, vintage drags and swap meet. We’re looking for period-style cars.
HOWEVER, I also know how nice it is to bring a car “inside the fence” at a show so you have a place to set up your chairs, pop-up tent, cooler, and a drop-spot for all the cool stuff you’re going to buy at the swap meet.
We’ve gotten a lot of people asking if they can drive in their later-style cars with larger wheels, EFI engines, etc. What we are doing is this: We will have the main area for the Gear Jam traditional rods and customs, and we’ll have another area beside it called The Rogues Gallery for the later-style builds with billet.
Our home-made donated trophies will be chosen from amongst the Traditional Rods and Customs only, so please don’t be disappointed if you don’t go home with a trophy.
Race Cars:
If you're thinking about racing, but are concerned about the wheels requirement, we have relaxed the drag cars wheels requirement for this year. Wheels SHOULD be traditionally styled on drag cars, but we're not gonna send you home if you've got Super Tricks or modern wheels on your Nostalgia Super Stocker.
Camping:
The track management said camp fires are allowed. I, however, ask that you put it in some kind of off-the-ground container... we don't need a bush fire! We have a port-o-john there as well, and there will be a security guard overnight. Please, no drunken banzai runs at 2-am on ridiculously under-sized 3-wheel ATVs. (you know who you are!)
Racers and swap meet vendors will be allowed to sleep overnight inside the fence; entry for them is 10pm to 12pm, OR, they can come in earlier if they want to pay to watch Friday Night Test and Tune. Track's rules.
Manufacturer’s Midway vendors can set up on Friday from 12:00 to 3:30, and again from 10-12pm after Cruisin’ Commerce. They can also set up there Saturday morning.
Gates And Times
Vendor and Racer gate opens at 6am.
We have a separate gate for the show cars, and it opens at 8:30.
Spectator gate opens at 8:30.
Swap meet vendors will set up where they always do.
Show cars will be in the first three grass rows next to the swap meet area.
Racers will be in the paved area at the end of the grandstands by the scoreboard, and the crass rows all the way down to the tech shop.
