Event Description

It is hot driving on the interstates around Atlanta, so it is time to treat your Porsche ( to some cool, country roads by joining us on Sunday, August 1st for the summer rally. It will be held on roads southwest of Atlanta which have very little traffic and some of which are designated Georgia Scenic Byways. The rally will end at the home of Suzanne and Bob Minarcine where we will be having a summer picnic with hot dogs and ice cold watermelon. Does it get any better? For those of you who have not rallied before, a rally is driven on public roads around the speed limit with a set of instructions given out at the start. The instructions not only are guaranteed to get you to the party, but also to introduce you to the concepts of rallying. It is helpful to know the rules of the game before running a rally. We suggest that you download the rally general instructions at peachstatepca.org, print them out, and study them before coming to the event.
Registration will open at 12:45 PM and close at 1:30 with first car out at 2:00. To get to the rally start either take I-85 south just past the Atlanta airport and exit onto South Fulton Parkway or take I-285 south on the west side of town toward I-85 south and exit on South Fulton Parkway. NOTE: there is only one way to exit on South Fulton Parkway coming from either interstate. Continue west on South Fulton Parkway for about 8 miles to the 3rd traffic light and turn right on Hwy 92 north. There will be a Publix shopping center on the right. Go to the far end of the shopping center where there is a McDonalds and turn right on the road on the far side of the McDonalds. Registration for the rally will be a few hundred feet on the left. Come early and dine at the golden arches or grab a sub sandwich at Publix. Please bring a clipboard, pencil and watch for the rally instructions and timing. A Porsche is not required to run the event, but it would definitely be more fun. The cost is $10 per car to rally and the cookout is $5 per person for food. Bring your favorite beverage for the finish and plan to party with other club members. If you plan to rally, please call or email us for food planning purposes. We hope to see you on August 1st for some cool, country roads and hot partying.

1988 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio

When you step back and look at an Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio, you’re not just seeing a sleek Italian convertible, you’re seeing one of the last gasps of true analog romance from the 1980s. By 1988, most sports cars had started to bulk up with electronics and smog equipment, but Alfa’s little Spider kept its…
