Che U.S. Senate passed Senate Resolution 452 (S.Res. 452) at the request of the SEMA Action Network (SAN) designating July 13, 2012 as "Collector Car Appreciation Day." The date marks the third commemoration in what has become an annual event to celebrate and raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.
This year Charleston is celebrating on Saturday, July 14th. This event is similar to a cruise-in and will again be held at Brittlebank Park from 9:00 to 12:00. A historical tour through The Citadel will begin at 12:00, which will enable more people to see the cars. Collectors are asked to come get laid-back and enjoy the music, beautiful cars and fellowship. Bring a picnic lunch or partake of Jack's Cosmic Dogs and Brinson's boiled peanuts.
