Classic Car Show

Saturday May 19, 2012
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Downtown Historic Norcross

From Model T’s to muscle cars and motorcycles, Downtown Historic Norcross will be the host to classics from every generation in the annual Norcross Car Show, May 21st, 8am – 4pm. With over 300 entries, this year’s show promises to be the biggest ever, offering a great lineup of the coolest hot rods, nicest antique cars and trucks, vintage motorcycles and even new cars. Whether you want to take a trip down memory lane in a ‘54 Chevy, check out the engine in a ’68 Mustang, or show off the paint job on your restored Corvette, don’t miss this chance to enjoy the vibes of a classic car show in a classic Southern town. It’s pure fun!
This year, awards will be given for the Top 25 Cars. There will be door prizes, a 50-50 drawing, a 350 Chevrolet engine donated by Nash Chevrolet (for registered participants only). Throughout the day, Norcross will be on the air with True Oldies station106.7 FM. Enjoy their tunes, a silent auction, a bake sale with lots of homemade goodies and some of the best grilled hot dogs and hamburgers ever. Plus there are lots of other great places to eat downtown and it’s a good time to get some spring shopping in. Just don’t forget to buy some raffle tickets; one $5.00 ticket could win $1,000.00.
The Norcross car show has been an annual event since 1997, when it was first organized to help with the medical costs for Dodger and Liz DeLeon’s daughter, Kristi, who had been critically injured in a car accident. Kristi eventually died from her injuries; as a result, the organizers established the Kristi Memorial Scholarship, in honor of her dream of becoming a nurse. Over the years, the car show has raised over $211,000, awarding scholarships to 69 students in the medical field, as well as donating to other civic and community projects.
According to Dodger DeLeon, “The car show has been so successful because of the support that we have received from the City of Norcross, local business and the people that live in our great community, surrounding towns and most of all the people that take there time to bring their cars to our show. We also have sponsors from all over the United States. We thank everyone for all that you do for the car show.”
It is free to come and enjoy the cars - if you are interested in participating in the show, or in making a donation, please contact Dodger at 770-448-2664 or mail your contribution to 525 Dogwood Circle, Norcross, GA 30071. # # #

We are bringing at least 2 1/2 dozen cars due to the posting in www.southeastwheelsevents.com!  It looks like the weather will cooperate, too!  Please announce this website at the show so other can post their events, too. Mike Thies does a great job with this site and hos radio show.  You should get on that to announce your event, too.  Jack
