July 3rd Leave the Historic Dahlonega Square precisely at 10am to stop at Crisson Gold Mine to see the National Champion Custom Car (Detroit’s Ridler Award Winner) and take a cool cruise through the mountains finishing with sips and snacks at  Frogtown Cellars vineyards for lunch.    For car show information, call 770 843-6477.

Monday, July 4^th.  Open Car Show from 10am-4:30pm, the Lumpkin County Administration Building and Library complex on East Main Street will be the location for this popular event featuring over 150 Show Cars, Customs, Hot Rods and newer Special Interest vehicles from all over the Southeast.   Vehicle entrants enjoy  the professionally judged show, Unique Awards, Downtown Celebrations, multiple music performances and the 5pm Parade of Winners through the Historic Downtown Square.  Last year over 20,000 watched the free parade and fireworks over the University.  Spectator admission is free, but charitable donations of any amount help fund The Community Helping Place food bank and volunteer medical/dental services provider in our area.  Dahlonega is famous for their own family oriented activities.  This year’s Independence Day schedule can be seen on the Chamber’s website: dahlonega.org.  Of course, Dahlonega’s 17 famous unique downtown eateries and 63 quaint shops will be open to engage the whole family.
