Hop in your Volkswagen, Chevy or Ford and cruise over to 5th annual Car Show, sponsored by the Smyrna Jonquil Lions Club. The event, featuring antique and classic cars, will take place on May 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Adventure Outdoors. GO!
The Lions Club, started in Chicago, Illinois, is the largest civic organization in the world with 46,000 clubs in almost every corner of the world, according to lionsclubs.org.
A basic tenant of the nonprofit organization is “to be the global leader in community and humanitarian service.”
“Proceeds from the show benefit the club and its charities and purpose,” said Roswell resident Michael Coolbroth, a charter member and Vice President of the club. He is married to Kim Coolbroth. They have two sons, Sloan and Connor. He works as a State Farm sales representative.
“The car show is the only fundraiser of Smyrna Jonquil Lions Club,” Coolbroth said.
Adventure Outdoors is at 2500 South Cobb Drive Smyrna, 30080 (South Cobb Plaza Shopping Center). The car show is free and open to the public.
“The car show is fun for the family,” he said. “We will have the Chick-fil-A cow there and Zaxby’s Chicken and they will interact with the wee ones. All spectators get to vote for ‘Best Car.’ There’s something for everyone. It’s all about community.”
