From German Army Schwimm-Wagen Type 166: Amphibious version of the "Kuebel-Wagen". Between 1942 and 1944, 14,238 were manufactured, this one July 5, 1943. 4-wheel drive with a 5-speed transmission. Capable of about 6 mph in water. Body was built by Ambi Budd, a division of American Budd Co. The engine is a Volkswagen, air-cooled, "flat four" developing about 25 hp from 69 cu. inch displacement. Weight was about 2425 pounds loaded. Located in: the Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles - Lexington, Nebraska
